O nas

The LAHOFER winery, founded in 2003, is one of the largest family owned wine growers in the Czech Republic. LAHOFER manages 430 ha of vineyards on the border with Austria in the vicinity of the 49th parallel, which intersects such wine-growing regions as the worldfamous Champagne and Alsace. Due to the rotation of hot days and cooler nights, the vine ripens slowly, and thanks to this, it produces wonderful aromatic wines. The winery’s current maximum capacity is 800.000 litres per year. LAHOFER is about to open a new, architecturally exceptional wine cellar and production hall with an outdoor amphitheatre to the end of 2019. Thanks to that we will increase our production capacity for about 1,5 million litres per year.

LAHOFER is based on a century-old wine-making tradition in Znojmo, developing through the most modern wine-making practices and technologies, and produces wines of all major Central European varieties. The white varieties are represented by Green Veltliner (Veltlínské zelené; 16% of LAHOFER vineyards), Riesling, Sauvignon, Traminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Müller Thurgau, from red varieties Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch, Zweigeltrebe, Saint Laurent and Dornfelder. The Znojmo wine-growing sub-region is well-known especially for the white aromatic wines. The excellent wines are made from varieties of Green Veltliner, Sauvignon and Rhine Riesling.
Znojmo subregion, where the top wine is growing, is famous for its full bodied and fresh aromatic white wines thanks to ideal nature and climate conditions. Cold wind from the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands together with thermoregulatory effect of the Dyje and Jevisovka river give to our wine a typical spicy taste and a full body. Thanks to an alternation of sunny days and cool nights the grapes mature slowly, however, they retain aromatic agents and reach high quality.
