In Rolle (North of Italy) we are welcomed by a picturesque village that looks like an authentic corner of paradise, where even today time seems to have stopped. Rolle has been suited for the cultivation of wine since ancient times thanks to the microclimate and to the sandy subsoil rich in mineral salts which are very important and give flavor and taste to wines; this is why Vigne Matte has chosen this territory.
Vigne Matte Winery is located on the top of the hill, recognizable from the road thanks to Red house. The winery is totally inside the hill and represents an important architectural intervention being in complete harmony between nature and man.
The winery owns a historical vineyard with ancient vines born spontaneously between the earth and the bare rock that is why they are called "Vigne Matte” that means “crazy grapes". Throughout this territory the work is done manually with great sacrifice and with the intent to preserve the DNA of Prosecco defined as the gold of the Land.
The 30 hectares of property allow to safeguard the entire production cycle from pruning to the quantity of grapes selected and harvested entirely by hand. Subsequently, thanks to modern technology, the various operations begin inside the cellar accompanying the entire production cycle until the bottling of the wine.
We produce excellent Prosecchi Superiori DOCG, red wines and Pinot Nero, Chardonnay varieties; Vigne Matte has also been able to revalue the ancient autochthonous vines of Prosecco such as Boschera, Verdiso, Perera, Bianchetta that added to Prosecco give a fruity note.
Vigne Matte's wines are annually awarded with important recognitions and prizes at national and international level.
