United Hungarian Wineries is a hand-picked group of Hungarian wine producers from different wine regions of Hungary. Lajver Winery from Szekszard, Harsanyi Winery from Tokaj, Dubicz Winery from Matra. Each of them characterizes the typical local style, features the indigenous grape varieties such as Furmint, Kékfrankos or even Irsai oliver, but together they cover a truly unique and exciting part of the comprehensive repertoire of Hungarian wines.

Lajver

We have planted twelve grape varieties, yet we do not make a separate batch of each. Certain varieties taste nicer if they are not bottled on their own. Often, with unusual, novel blends, we can best express what we think of viticulture and winemaking. Renowned Hungarian and foreign experts have helped us to create a winery between the hills of Szekszárd that makes full use of the possibilities offered by nature with the help of the most modern technology. The processing and cellar, sunk to a depth of thirty meters, utilises the Earth’s gravitational energy and natural heat storage capacity, thus ensuring the most gentle processing possible. Grapes carefully harvested from vines enter the processing in crates at the highest point of the winery. In the case of this wine, intact bunches are placed on a lattice shaking table, where the grapes are automatically cleansed of most contaminants during gentle vibration. The residue is removed by manual sorting. This is when the berries that are not sufficiently ripe or damaged are also removed. The berries are then gravity fed to the containers or press. The fermentation is carried out at a temperature of ten degrees at a precisely controlled temperature, under 24-hour supervision. Our barrels are made of high quality Hungarian and American oak in 225, 300, 500 litre sizes, with different roasting. This way, all our wines get the most proper maturation, so that we are always one step closer to the perfect Lajvér wine.

Dubicz Winery & Vineyard is a wine cellar with 115-year history and 120 hectares of own vineyard that focuses mainly on white wines. Combining the great conditions of Mátra Wine Region with the traditions and the latest technology we offer reductive white wines with high content and full-bodied wine specialities fermented and aged in barrels beside our fresh, aromatic and light wines with excellent value for money.

Harsanyi

The territories of the Harsányi Winery are found in the Eastern part of Tokaj-Hegyalja right under one of the most beautiful hiking destinations, the tarn on Megyer Hill near Sárospatak. The core of the vineyard was purchased by Jakab Rick - my great-great-grandfather - in 1850. I took over the management of the winery in 2012 when my father got retired. Stepping out of the family business I expanded the size of land and changed to more modern organic viniculture and wine-making technologies. As a committed handcraft wine-maker my work combines tradition, modernism and expertise well. We make wines which can show the diversity of our vineyards, the character of our terroir through which wine lovers can feel the individual nature of our wines.
