82034 GUARDIA SANFRAMONDI
The Coperative La Guardiense, among the biggest in Italy, was founded in 1960 by 33 vine-growers. Nowdays the winery counts around 1000 members who cultivate grapes on about 1500 hectars of land for an average yearly production of 240.000 hl of wines.
It is situated in Guardia Sanframondi a southern-italian town in the province of Benevento, in Campania, that represents a very particular wine district with both hills and flats in a valley with an absolute fantastic micro-climate, not extreme cold or hot, that is clearly suitable for the grape-growing.
La Guardiense produces a wide range of wines, with several brands, where “Janare” carries the main company philosophy of developping and protecting the local native grape varieties. These selections aim to give value to native white grape Falanghina and native red Aglianico. Great relevance is given to the production of Sparkling wines based on the Falanghina grape, both “Charmat” and “Champenois”. An incredible flexibility of adapting to the new eras and the market trends make this winery the symbol of the tecnological progress of the whole area, combining tradition, experience and modernity.
